Fifteen minutes is the absolute limit of Tobias' patience when it comes to waiting for me to browse and try on stuff in a women's clothing store. Because of this, I decided to just go ahead and buy one white 3/4 length sleeve plain cotton shirt and one light blue one at Jacob today. I mean, go ahead and buy them without trying them on.
When I got up to the counter, the cashier started raving about my choice. This was reassuring for about two minutes. Then I realized that she was actually wearing the same shirt I was buying, and, well, it looked like shit.
Unfortunately, I don't have the guts to say "Oh, is this what you're wearing? Huh. Well, in that case, I don't think I'll get it after all." So I bought it anyway.
It seems okay though. I wore it all afternoon and kept checking for signs that I was looking like the cashier. I didn't see any.
I think it was the way she was wearing it that made it look so bad. She could have stood to go up a size, and also I think it's more of a jeans shirt than a pin-striped trousers shirt. Also, she needs to separate her whites.
At least, I hope so, or else I just bought an ugly shirt.
Tobias has just started doing some serious training for a randoneurring (ha! I love that word) event this summer. This means he gets up at 6:30 on Sunday mornings. This is the time we get up on weekdays, but to do it on Sundays seemed insane to me.
Today I was so desperate for some reading time that I got up with him. And let me tell you, being up very early on Sunday morning, having coffee and reading Tolstoy on the couch is a total pleasuredome. I highly recommend it. Also, the likelihood of being late for church is greatly reduced.
